Getting your game reviewed at Indie Gamer Chick is easy: just ask. Although we can’t fulfill every request, we try to get to as many games as we can. If you’re a developer and you want your game reviewed by either Cathy, aka Indie Gamer Chick, or a member of Indie Gamer Team, just fill out the form below.
Cathy is joined by Miko, aka the Indie Game Dame, and Paolo, aka Indie Family Man. We all strive to present readers the type of reviews we would want to read ourselves. Our reviews are tough but fair, and everyone gets an equal chance with us. We leave our personal biases at the door, or if we don’t, we admit them up front in our reviews. Every game is also eligible for a Second Chance once you’ve patched up any issues we addressed in our reviews. No game will ever be turned away from a Second Chance.
At this time, Indie Gamer Chick covers nearly every platform available. These include.
- iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod)
- PlayStation 3
- PlayStation 4
- PlayStation Mobile
- PlayStation Vita
- Wii U
- Xbox Live Arcade
- Xbox Live Indie Games
- Xbox One
DO NOT send review codes or tokens before talking with us. We pay for all of our own games. The only exception to this is if your game has online play. If your game features online multiplayer, a review token will be used by someone else to help us play the game online. This person will have little to no feedback in the review. The copy played by Cathy or a member of Indie Gamer Team is paid for by us with our own money. Our playing partners will not be another writer for IGC. If a game is available on more than one platform, we do take codes for all platforms besides the one we purchase the game on. However, we’ll request the codes ourselves. Do not send them in the request. Read more about that policy here.
All requests must be done for the full, market-release version of the game. For PC games, it’s up to the writer’s discretion whether or not a game is in a complete enough state to be reviewed. Games that aren’t close to being finished will not be considered.
If you’re looking for a preview of your unfinished game, Miko has a feature for them. We have a different form for previews that you can fill out here.
If the final version of your game has a pending release date but is available for review, you may provide the early-access code. Regardless of whether the review is positive or not, we will purchase a full copy of the game once it is released to the marketplace.
This form is for developers only. It is to request reviews only. Do not send requests for previews, press releases, or crowd funding asks.
Cathy, aka Indie Gamer Chick, has epilepsy that can be triggered by bright, screen-wide strobe effects. If you’re unsure whether your game is safe for her to play, make footage of the questionable areas and a friend or family member will screen the video for her.
Cathy and Miko play games across all platforms and all genres. Paolo focuses more on games designed to be educational or aimed at younger children. You can reach all of us on Twitter with the links below.
